SECTION 6 2017 ONE BY ONE

 

The Ultimate Band Crew aka. UBC, performs in a style mixing different influences from African Music, Reggae, Ragga, Hip-Hop, also sometimes Soul and even R‘n’B. The band creates most the instrumentals used in their songs, sometimes helped by different beat-makers and Deejays.

Ultimate Band Crew made several cooperation during their career. The Band performed alongside the One Drop band, the Dancehall Deejays Meiwenti Sound System, the rising Chinese reggae band 龙神道 (Long Sheng Dao), ChaCha, 马帮, Ras Demo, Don Camilo but also the French artist DJ Ewone, Kery James, the UK dancehall star Tippa Irie, the old raggamuffin veteran U-BROWN and the jamaican reggae singer Perfect Giddimani.

In 2015 They organised their own tour with IMCG Global Inc in November alongside the jamaican artist Perfect Giddimani, going to Yugong Yishan in Beijing, Arkham in Shanghai and Guangzhou.They already tour 3 times China.

KLS Miguel is a singer already known in his country has a ex. member of the famous Cameroon reggae band Sumanja. He is a singer and a songwriter. His style a unique combination of reggae, dancehall and soul. KLS Miguel is also an actor in China, you have probably seen him in big productions such as 煎饼侠 with 大鹏or even Wild Speed (狂野飞车).

General Huge is a Ragga, Reggae, Dancehall singer, songwriter and beat maker. He is also the Co-founder and CEO of DB bros Records, the very first dedicated to reggae record label in China. Nonetheless he made several projects with other performers from the world. He exported the concept of “One Riddim Album” in China by having different famous reggae artists singing on his own productions. It featured Perfect Giddimani, Chuck Fendah, Naptali, Aima Moses, Lutan Fyah, MC王波 and many more.

 

36th Chamber Crew is a real B-Boy crew, representatin’ Beijing as a poineer of the B-Boy lifestyle. The crew was founded in 2007, and has been eversince dedicated to the promotion of Hip-Hop culture. It participated in the Floor Wars (Danmark) in 2006, Bboy Unit9 (South Korea) in 2007, UK Bboy (UK) 2008, Circle Kingz (Switzerland) in 2009, R16 (South Korea) in 2010 and TBB (USA) in 2016.

 

P.O.E. was a Rock n’ Roll fan, a Hip-Hop head then now a rapper. He drives it slow and gradually releases works based upon a profound understanding of Hip-Hop as first and foremost a keen connoisseur. He started in 2005 being involved in gigs and parties, working on his freestyle skills and techniques, trying to not only move the crowd with mature works but also share with the audience his improvised, true sound of himself. For the previous decade, he goes up and down in the nation and grows from a Hip-Hop kid to a man who is willing to give it all up for the music. He pushes Hip-Hop in his hometown and realises that, as Biggie used to say, only sky’s the limit.

 

艾福杰尼 AFTERJOURNEY

After Journey is a rapper, Hip-Hop producer. He set up in 2013 the Hip-Hop record label EASYBOYZGANG and has eversince been active in the scene as a force of independence and creativity. After Journey is known for his unique musical concepts, styles, and attention to details. Unlike other Hip-Hop musicians, he carries on the tradition of Hip-Hop and seeks after a successful combination of contemporary elements as well.

 

BooM represents the neo-gen Chinese rap. An Uygur based in Beijing, he successfully came from a freestyle background to a proper Hip-Hop musician. His music is not limited to freestyle, but is structured around a brilliant body of techniques and skills. From boombap, trap to soul rap, he masters them all in his first mixtape 自我救赎.

 

Raddam Ras aka MC Webber represents the history of Chinese rap. Legendary and profoundly artistic, as the founder of the widely-known crew 隐藏 and the organiser of the Hip-Hop event Section 6, MC Webber is recognised as the pioneer of Chinese rap, the most thorough MC that creates in Chinese.

He has been DJing for 10 years and rapping for 20, and has performed nationwide for more than 500 times. Back in 2005 he released the first ever Chinese rap album 隐藏; back in 2007 he organised 北京现场体验, an improv band that fuses Roots Reggae, Hip-Hop, Drum n’ Bass and Funk; He released in 2012 his first solo album Ghetto Food.

Recognised as MC Webber, he started creating Dancehall Reggae and Drum n’ Bass back in 2006, and was mixing a lot. He also got in touch with artists from Spain and other countries, and showed them the diversity of Chinese rap in both Hip-Hop and Reggae. Then he started working many internationally known artists, such as RAGGASONIC – BIG RED from France, veteran PA PA U GEE from Japan, and U Brown from Jamaica. He also DJed for Brother Culture and Tippa Irie. He is today the best modern electro Reggae DJ and the most diverse MC in the nation.

 

Norrisman (ZULU BOB) is a MC, DJ and Entertainer, comes from afar Antigua and Barbuda and rocking a Carribean vibe. He is Island raised and making sure reggae gets it’s praise.

 

Zambian singer/rapper Rawhx van Marly was born in 1992, creates Reggae, Hip-Hop, Trap Soul musics under the record label Emotuli.

 

Jackson Turner aka Heretic is a rapper from New York. He started composing and performing when he was 15, and released his first EP when he was 19. Heretic worked previously with the famous Lisa Rowe and Natural Born Spitters (NBS), and was interviewed by I Am Hip-Hop from London. He was 20 when he was first in China, and got back to the scene in 2011.

 

Jahjahway comes from the legendary In3. Freely he expressed his opinions and judgements, narrating the attitudes of the generation towards the society. He is influenced by Jah Rastafari movement, and in turn he tries to influence the youngsters as he believes in progress in society and peace.

 

Dungeon Beijing was founded by several musicians who were active participants of the established Hip-Hop party Section 6. The musicians – MCs, hardcore rap crew, DJs and producers – aim at bringing Hip-Hop back to music and live experiences.

 

Pac-T belongs to label Nous Underground that he partly founded. As a new talent, he is a MC+rapper+singer.
