The Bilinda Butchers formed in the suburbs of Northern California as a joint project by schoolmates Michal and Adam. They chose their name as a tribute to the My Bloody Valentine guitarist, and in those early days, their sound was slightly shoegaze-y.
As time went on, and they began experimenting with a wider range of musical instruments, and became exposed to more influences, the group’s sound veered towards dreamy, electronic pop. This dream pop sound characterizes the duo’s 2011 EP ‘regret, love, guilt, dreams,’ as well as on their 2012 follow-up, ‘goodbyes’.
In 2013, the group welcomed their third member, drummer Ryan, whose knack for rhythm has completed the sonic puzzle that is The Bilinda Butchers.
