SEXY SUSHI [FR]

Electro Punk

French electro clash super hero will land in China for the very first time. Since 2004, Sexy Sushi has published a dozen of records, not to mention the side-projects of Rebeka Warrior (Mansfield. TYA) and Mitch Silver (College). Over time, we have become accustomed to their rudeness, lack of manners, and provocations which, although not truly wicked, had come across as startling at the beginning. The mask fell off long time ago, though. Behind their hyperactivity and the language that has lost much of its coarseness, bite the poignant absurd and despairing void. 60min performance.

SNAPLINE [CN]

Electro Post-punk

Snapline has, almost overnight, become one of Beijing’s fastest rising bands. Their music was an attempt to align the sounds and ideas of the noise and minimalist musicians of the 1970s and 1980s with the realities of contemporary Beijing. The new record Phenomena, performed by Chinese band Snapline, is one of those new views. Snapline reproduced 6 tracks form the Future Eyes (produced by Martin Atkins (Public Image Ltd.) in the United States) by themselves with the lable Maybe Mars’ full support. 60min performance.

HONG HAIER [FR / IT]

Electric wildness

Powered by the artist François R. Cambuzat, the project was initially designed and implemented for the Garonne Theatre, the European scene of Toulouse, France, in March 2012, to eventually become a compelling, iconoclastic band. Note that this is not a typical performance, but full immersion (heart, eyes, ears) in impropriety and its incredible beauty. François R. Cambuzat (guitar, samples, vocal) has given nearly 4,000 concerts worldwide. At first, a bassist then a saxophonist (at the age of 17, he played with Dizzy Gillespie at the Blue Note in New York), he escaped the misery of a young immigrant musician in America thanks to rock’n’roll. His latest collaborations include Lotfi Bouchnak (Tunisia), Lydia Lunch and Eugene S. Robinson (USA). Gianna Greco (bass, body) from Salento, southern Italy, at 26 years of age, she had already created sixteen band projects, released eleven albums and toured around the world with two major bands from the modern Italian scene (Shotgun Babies and Muffx). 60min performance.

MIRA: THE GESTOGRAPH & EPHEMERALS INSTALLATIONS [BE]

Body calligraphy, cinema and other photographic recycled wastes

Born in Paris in 1971, Fred Chemama aka Mira lives and works in Brussels, at the Mommen workshops. Inspired by corporal action, he proves keen to mix ancient photographic techniques, early filming styles and new media potential.

1. The Gestograph. Through numerous experimentations, he has developed a digital gestograph – an interactive real-time video installation inspired by JE Marey’s chronophotography. Interacting with the installation, the audience feeds it with live gestures and body movements associated with words, which are captured by a video camera.
2. 2. Ephemeral installations. Also as part of the X NIGHTS festival, in parallel with the gestograph and cyclo-kino, the artist will propose ephemeral, degradable, multi-coloured installations of souvenir photos waste.
