Mamer is the leader of the famous band IZ. In 2008 he recorded an album on Peter Gabriel’s label Real World, which was entitled “Eagle”, a consecration for this amazing musician. His solo project has gradually distanced itself from stereotyped and commercial ethnic music with its playful moods. The mystery of his music lies not just in the infinite landscapes of the great western China but also in the intimate landscapes of the Kazakh artist, dark and uncompromising.

3.EPHEMERALS ENSEMBLE curated by Xiao He (China, Hebei, Jilin, Hunan, Chongqing, France) 10:15pm Music by Xiao He, Li Tieqiao, Song Yuzhe, L’Ocelle Mare, Matthieu Ha Dancer: Tao Ye Action Lighting by Pierre Mansire
SONG YUZHE (Jilin): Song Yuzhe is one of the pillars of the new Chinese avant-garde folk scene. Few years ago he decided to return to travel solo in order to meet ethnic groups of Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet. Two years later he returned to Beijing with the project “Da Wang Gang”, bringing together artists from Mongolia, Xinjiang and Mexico in music and images.
L’OCELLE MARE(France):L’Ocelle Mare is the solo project of Thomas Bonvalet, the former guitarist for Cheval de Frise (1999-2004). The music of L’Ocelle Mare may not have the same cultural resonance as the folk music of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, but it should not be dismissed. This music celebrates both the chaos and timelessness of nature and is one of the most beautiful works of contemporary folk music.
MATHIEU HA (France): For Matthieu Ha, it all started in the streets of Brussels, with a meeting between the European capital and its music. It is impossible to remain indifferent to his world of voice alto-cons and the melancholic melodies of his accordion. In December 2010 he organized the BANGK (zero) K, pop utopia festival, in the Thai capital. The festival was a part of his larger project: “Desoriental”. Every performance is unique.
TAO YE (Chongqing): Tao Ye’s works “Weight”, “Double”, and “Sketch” have all been performed in international contemporary dance festivals. Tao Ye believes that each body has unique secrets, and through rigorous, sincere and exploratory corporal research, he hopes to stretch the boundaries of the flesh, and in this process of excavation to discover the body’s unknown.
PIERRE MANSIRE (France): Pierre Mansire is an alter-contemporary artist, whose favorite medium and material is light. Living in Europe, he works, exhibits, performs internationally (New-York, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Budapest … ). A pioneer since the eighties, he creates his own light instruments and techniques, using natural light (solar) as well as artificial light (electric).
